    Scanned images, scanned documents, upload photos

    Any idea when we might see the ability to attach images like a .jpg or a pdf and or upload a photo is my dire need....

    MisterBill-

    Right now you can attach files to Opportunities under the Document tab section.

    We do plan on changing how documents and attachments are organized in Method in the near future but I can't give you date on when exactly.

    Where are you trying to attach an image? To a customer? To an invoice?

    To a customer would be the most helpful, and if the mobile browser could have a neat function to upload photo from camera of the phone would be super.  but in the office if we wanted to scan documents and attach them to the customer file like a contract or layout of the installation or whatnot is where i'm going

    The simplest way to do this at the moment would be to add a File Attachment field to the Customer table, and then drag then add that field to your screen. This would allow you to add one image per customer.

    Currently adding files is not supported on mobile.

    i don't even see what your talking about under opportunities ...can you break that down a bit more for me...if i go to customize/tablesfields/customer/edit fields i don't see how that adds a file attachment?

    Hi Bill,

    The document management that is in the CRM right now is focused on three areas.
    • Opportunities
    • Cases
    • Solutions


    If we take a look at opportunities, here are the steps you would take to attached a document.
    1. Click Opportunities > Opportunities List.
    2. Click Go To... next to any opportunity.
    3. Click the Documents tab section.
    4. Click Link or Upload Document...
    5. You’ll be provided with 2 options.
      1. Link an existing document - useful if you want to re-use documents you’ve uploaded in the past.
      2. Upload a new document
    6. If you follow the remaining steps, the document will then be linked to this opportunity.


    Although this document management is focused on these three areas of Method, I can tell you that in the Method labs we are actively working on expanding this to fit other areas of the CRM.  This includes the leads and customers screens.  Soon you’ll be able to attach documents following the same steps but for other areas of the CRM.  If this is your end goal, I would probably hold off if you can on customizing this.  We hope to have this released for February 2012 but I can’t say for sure.  We’ll announce this via the release notes and Method blog once it is ready for you to use.
