    Item Pricing with Decimal Points

We have a serious problem and I was helping someone will be able to shed some light on this topic.

For some reason when typing in any decimal number, the number typed in Method and the number synced in QuickBooks does not match.

For instance, we're creating a Sales Order through Method and entering an item with a rate of  "44.20" - After syncing, QuickBooks shows the item in the Sales Order with a rate of "44.199999"

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I had the same problem. This is something they fixed in the latest version. On your login screen, look at the bottom for the option to switch to the "April version" of Method. Sales Orders you've already created won't show the change until you change the Sales Tax (just switch it then switch it back), which I believe was the cause of the issue.

You can also edit the fields themselves within the screen to control the number of decimal places shown, but I think what you're experiencing is due to the bug.

Are you referring to this screen? https://www.methodintegration.com/method/Login.aspx?App=

I don't have any "Switch to April Version" button. This looks like a VERY serious bug to me. Honestly, we are just checking Method right now but I'm very worried at this point.

Hmm, you're right it's not there anymore. Maybe they switched everyone over already?

When I experienced this issue, I found that the April version fixed it only for newly created SOs. If I looked at SOs that were already imported into method, the extended decimal places still showed - I was able to get it to display properly by changing the SO totals/sales tax and resaving, try that and see if it solves the problem. Alternatively, create a dummy SO in Quickbooks and see if this new SO has the same problem as the old ones when it is uploaded to Method.

Of course, you wouldn't want to have to do that to every existing SO in Method - but I think doing a "full synch" on the Method Engine would reupload all the existing data from Quickbooks.

Edit: By the way, as a Method customer I too had my concerns when first exploring the software a few months ago, but I have since been impressed by the company's customer service and response time to bugs. Bugs will occur in any software - what's important is how they are addressed!

    Answer

I assume everyone were converted to April Version. That must have happened today. Issue is fixed.

    @warren_nickus

Yes the issue was resolved by our current version.

On your login screen, look at the bottom for the option to switch to the "April version" of Method. Sales

What smohyee is referring to is how we periodically implement updates on our site. Before we implement a major update, we create a Staging website for all our users. (April version) to test the solutions to known issues. We provide both the live and Staging website and as a user, you have a choice to access and use. Once these issues were fully tested and resolved, we implement the changes to the live site and remove the staging site.

Please read our blog in regards to this topic.
