"Username/Password could not be found for this session." error message

Jim S. submitted the following question:

I have the Full Blown edition.  When I go to any tab, I can view it, but when I go to add a new activity, I get a popup that says Security Timeout - please sign in.  If I enter my Admin login and password, it tells me "User Name / Password could not be found for this session.  Please log out and log back in.  I have tried that and it just started happening today.  I am using IE8, I am going to try it in Firefaox and see if I get the same result.

     Hey Jim,

Let’s have you confirm what your security time out settings are, Click on Customize > My Account > Minimum Minutes Method is idle before asking for login: Double check that this settings is higher than 10. A good setting on this would be 20 - 60 min depending on your use.

One more thing I wanted to know is; what pricing method are you under? Concurrent or Named? you can find this under Customize > My Account, listed beside these apps it should state Concurrent or Named.

Let’s start by checking on these settings before we look further into your account.

I've been having the same problem since this weekend. I currently use the Qxpress Online module.

Whatever I'm doing, when I try to save after 2-3 minutes I get the security timeout. If I try to relog in with the timeout screen my username/password don't work. I then have to click on Sign Out and log back in from the Method Screen. I then have 2-3 minutes of work before it happens again. If I make any changes and they are not saved, I have to redo the work I did.

I changed my security timeout from 45 minutes to 60 minutes and that didn't change anything. IE8 and Firefox both do this. I've even tried turning my firewall off.

Please look into this ASAP, as Method is almost impossible to use like this.

     Greg,

You may have some caching of the page in your browser. Can you do this in IE.

    1. Go to Tools > Internet Options.

    2. Make sure you have the General tab selected at the top of the pop-up (by default it should be).

    3. Select the Delete... button in the Browsing History.

    4. Only check Temporary Internet files checkbox.

    5. Click Delete.

Then log back into Method and see if the timeout continues to happen after a few minutes.  If you continue to have this problem you can adjust the timeout in minutes from 60 to a very large number like 2000 until we can figure out what is happening.

As well if the above steps do not work, can you tell me what Regional Settings you have on your computer.  Go to Start > Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region.  Region and Language Options. Under Current format: dropdown you will see something like English (United States), can you tell me what it reads for you.

    Thanks.

I am still having this issue, I have done everything suggested.  I am not able to go to any screen without this happening.  I have a named user account with one additional user.  Please help!

     Jim,

The live site has been updated now.  You wont have issues with security login now.
