    Help with Teams

    I still confuse with Teams.

We are a lawn mowing co, mostly. Have several crews. Sometimes a foreman will be in crew 01 with 2 others employes and sometimes in crew 02 with only another member.

I created my teams in method, for example Team 1, I called it crew01, the team leader is Carlos, and Jose is the other member of the team.

When I create a work order, It does not allow me to assign it to the crew, only to the team leader. And when I go to to time in/out, only the second member of the crew is there.

    What am I doing wrong.

And how do I do it, when the same foreman is in charge of more of one crew?

    Answer

    Hi Marcelo11756,

This sounds like you're doing it correctly since you can't assign Work Orders to a team. Let me make sure I'm understanding this first, correct me if I'm wrong:

    • You have created a team called crew01 where Carlos is the team leader and Jose is a member.
    • You assigned the Work Order to the Team Leader(Carlos), which is what you're supposed to do.
    • In the Time In/Time Out tab section you have Jose listed as an Employee.

If that's the case then you're doing it correctly. Do you need to have Carlos show up in the Time In/Time Out tab section as well?

Yes the team leader has to show up as an employee also.

Can I make the team leader name something like crew 01?, so the way when I create the work order, I will be able to assign it to the crew directly.

    Answer

Yes you can do that, just remember that the Team Leader is a Method user. So just create a Method user that does not need to sign in and name it Crew 01. You can then assign Carlos and Jose as employees to that team and enter their time in/time out info for Work Orders assigned to that user.

    Re: Help with Teams

If I change the label in the fields, will that affect any of the actions?

For example if the employee/vendor1 is change to foreman, and the employee/vendor2 is change to employee2.

Because I know that in the enter time screen there actions to autofill those fileds, I think.

    Answer

Good question, but no need to worry. You can change the label/caption of the field on the screen as you please, the actions associated with that field will show the updated label name. You can confirm this yourself by changing the caption of one field, e.g. rename Employee / Vendor 1 to Foreman. Once that's done go to one of your buttons which holds actions that reference the same field you just edited, you'll notice the actions refer to the new caption.
