Customer export: This Name is already in use

I have a client where I'm getting a bunch of these errors when trying to add or update customers:

Save Warning: The Customer/Employee/Vendor/OtherName could not be sent to QuickBooks. This Name is already in use. Please edit the Name so that it is unique and save again.

But, when I query their Customer table, there's no record that has the same name as the customer I'm trying to export.

Is it possible there are records in the Customer table that I wouldn't see when trying to query for them? Or is there another table that I should be looking at? Or are there fields other than "Name" that I need to look at?

    Thanks,
    Robert

    Answer

    Robert,

Check the Entity table. In QB their is ONE table of names for customers, employees, vendors and other names and each name must be unique.

    Hope that Helps.
