    Multiple Properties for One Customer in Field Services

    How do I setup Multiple Properties for One Customer in Field Services?  This is a pretty common situation in field services, for example, one customer owns multiple gas stations, hotels, etc.  I can't figure out how to set this up in Method Field Services for routing, etc.  What I've done so far is just set up multiple work orders for ONE customer - this works fine, but I can't use the routing feature this way.  I have one customer that has 70 locations.   So right now, I have 70 work orders with the address/name in the job description.

    Hi TrustyCare,

    You could just Customer:Jobs for this purpose.

    A "Job" is similar to a Customer, it's sort of a sub-customer. You can use it to track transactions and contact information separately from other "Jobs" of the same Customer. It would be useful to track different projects for a Customer. For example, if you have Customer Joe Schmoe, you could have a Job for a project where you build an extension to their house, and a separate job for doing some work on their yard. This would allow you to have contact information for separate contractors, as well as to track transactions such as Invoices and Payments separately.

    So this would work for your situation as well, creating a Job for each property would allow you to have multiple addresses for the same customer and get your work order routing done. To set up a Job, enter the Property as you normally would with a new Customer. Before you Save the Job from the New Customer screen, check the box for Add Additional Info?, this will allow you to select a Parent Customer in the Job of Customer dropdown that appears.

    Hi Justin,

    I tried two locations following your suggestion.  I created and completed sample work orders for each location.  However, when I invoiced the sample work orders, Method created TWO invoices and shows the balance under each "location" instead of under the PARENT.  I don't want SEVENTY invoices at the end of the month for my seventy locations, I only want ONE invoice showing the seventy locations.

    Did I make a mistake or miss something?

    Hi TrustyCare,

    I can see how that complication would be an annoyanceIt should be possible to customize Method to create an invoice for the Parent Customer instead of the Job, however it would require modifying the Create Invoices button, which I wouldn't recommend doing yourself unless you're very comfortable customizing Method.
