State Field Changes When Creating an Estimate

Is there a reason why the state field sometimes changes when creating an estimate or order? For example, we've set a customer up in Method with a Texas address... but when we create an estimate or order with the same customer, the state field changes to Louisiana. Why would it do this? You can see how this would be an issue when we go to ship our product out and it should go to a Texas address, but we show it going to a Louisiana address... we can usually catch this because of the city associated with the address. But it's creating extra work that we shouldn't have to worry about.

Re: State Field Changes When Creating an Estimate

    Hi there,

Ive done some testing on my end to attempt to replicate what you are describing and It looks like Ive come across a bug in QuickBooks. Ill have to do some further testing to confirm my suspicion, and some help from you in the matter would be greatly appreciated. I suspect that QuickBooks is attempting to auto complete address information based on some part of the customers name.

To Clarify, I added a customer in QuickBooks (Method Integration engine disconnected to eliminate Method from the equation) with the name and company name of "Florida Man". I entered a random street address, and put Orlando FL 32801 for the respective address fields. After saving, I went back and had a look at the address information, and found that the City, State, and Postal codes had all been pushed into the "City" field, and the State had been auto Filled with MB (Manitoba). I believe this is happening due to the "Man" part of the Company/Customer name auto completing the State Information.

Does the customer you mentioned who is having their Texas address change to Louisiana contain any abbreviation of Louisiana or its State Code (La)?

If you could Email me with your company account and the customer in question that would be great. My email is in my signature.

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    Ben
