    Identifying a customer/job

It is difficult to distinguish which contact in Method is associated with which job. This is a particular problem with finding the proper customer/job ciombination in the grids. Customer name will appear multiple times -- there is no information about which job is associated with, say, the second or third instance of a customer. Can work around this is in Method Classic by using the heirarchial customer list in QuickBooks plus other information in the grid colummns. This is much more difficult in Method.new because less detail is available.

    Hi s.mcneal,

You should be able to customize as much detail as you need into Method:New. Can I ask for some more detail?

    Re: Identifying a customer/job

The problem is that the name of the job in the customer/job data structure does not appear on your customer list new Method. Customer/Job information is present in Method:Classic.

Also, just saw that Method:New continued to list customer/job instances for at least one job that I set to inactive.  There should only be 5 instances, not 6 per the list in QB. Note that in Method:Classic there is more information about each instance (contact, alternate contact, etc.) as well as customer/job information.  Sam and Kevin Mola are both contacts for the business , Frank is their accountant and there are 5 instances of customer/job. It is simply a list in Method:New and that makes it  more confusing.

I like the pared down design of Method:New but I think these details are important because they represent different tasks.

    Sent screen shots to method@methodintegration.com.

    Answer

    Hi s.mcneal,

Since most users don't make use of Customer:Jobs, I don't think it's something we'll add to our stock screens. However, you can easily customize this information into your own Contact List screen by adding the Entity field as a column in the grid. This also allows you to search the grid by Entity (Customer) Name.

    Hope this helps.
