Glad to see you got this figured out. Something else to try if you run into this again is to click "Finish editing fields" in the table you wish to link. On occassion, the table sometimes needs to be regenerated before the text field options show up.

I was able to link everything when I created the report from the Entity Table, give that a shot and see if it allows you to do what you are looking for.
Master Table: Entity
Detail 1: Bill.VendorRef
Detail 2: Billlineitem.CustomerRef

I changed the Transaction History value to ALL then triggered a full sync and the paid invoices are still not in the Customer screen Transaction tab. So that didn't fix it.
