I had the same thing happen to me, but can't duplicate it regularly. I'm able to get out of the loop by:
1. Signing into the April version, and signing out.
2. Switching to the May version.
3. Trying the link from Gmail again.
There are so many variables at play, and it's all related to shuffling versions of ...

When using the April version and I click "edit/view in method" and I'm logged into method via google open id and directed to the edit screen.
If I'm already logged into method and setup to log into method using the May version I get this message "Your session has either timed-out, or you have signed into your account ...

Great to hear that it's a viable alernative.
Shame, however, that it doesn't work on the mobile optimized version - it obviously gives a better experience on a tablet or phone. But, alas, our hands are tied until Google implements it.

Just tried the gadget from my iPad and it works. I was able to check email and add to activities.
I would imagine that this would work on any tablet. I did have to switch from gmail mobile to desktop.

I am forcing tests and I agree that simple is better.
From what you describe here I think its just a training issue. Since there is a fresh pull on each search the reload is already there.

I find the stale data concept interesting. I'm going to challenge you on that one :).
Is it because you are just testing, and beating it up, wheras in real-life use it wouldn't be perceived as stale?
Contact info - this can be stale as you switch between tabs. If you go to contact info then to activities, then back to ...
