How to add new drop-down list items to current custom drop-down field

    How to add new drop-down list items to current custom drop-down field

    I am sure this is covered in a recorded webinar. I have a custom drop-down field named QuickBooks Version and I use it on the Customer Screen, Additional Info tab.

    I originally created it with the help of Method tech support and now I need to add new drop-down lists items (other years version of QuickBooks), can can't see to find it.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hey Laura,

    If you look in your screen list, you should see a screen that is named after your dropdown, you should be able to add more items from that screen.

    If you don't have a screen with those values, you will need to create one.
    To do this go to the screens tab section and create a new screen based off the table your dropdown is pointed to. Make sure to add buttons to the screen to add or delete records.

    Ryan, I can see the list with the values, but simply cannot add a new drop-down value. Is there a way you can view my database for this?

    Hey Laura,

    Thank you, those few instructions got me there! We had 7 of us in a Method Study Group last Monday and all of could not figure it out! Thank you for your reply today, I should have turned to the forum alot sooner!

    If I may add in one final suggestion.  Take advantage of using the MSP forum available exclusively for MSP's.  There are certain perks, details of which were outlined in the webinar I conducted a couple of weeks ago.  Wink
