Tags vs Custom Fields

    Tags vs Custom Fields


    I'm new to using Method and just getting things set up.  I need to categorize my customers and leads like (retail, resellers, distributors) so I can send different emails and generate a report on them.  I'd also like to be able to categorize by industry and many other metrics.

    Looks Like tags would be an easy way to do this but I'm wondering if there are limitations and if it would be better to use a custom field instead?

    Hi there Joel.

    Either Tags or a Custom field would work fine for your purpose here. Although I would say tags would be a more robust option considering you are trying to categorize your contacts by multiple metrics.
