Hi,

If I'm trying to mass update a field like assigned to - how do I do that without exporting to excel and importing back in.  I get a bunch of bugs when i do this.  I see that we can create a button and loop through grid to update.   how does one do this step by step?  When I try to code a button to do this - I get an error about trying to delete a contact when I tried no such thing.

I'm basically trying to find out what's the easiest way to mass update a table.

Mass Updating of any sort is typically faster using the Import / Export tool (unless its something you intend to do often) - Would you mind sharing some of the Bugs you ran into when trying to do this?

If you would like to follow the Customization route - there are a few considerations before pulling the trigger on a lopping process. Most importantly - are all the records in the table you are looping through being assigned to one person? Its not a problem if they are, but you will need extra logic to determine who to assign a record to otherwise.
