    problem with logging into customer portal after adding HTML to website

    Hi - I'm posting this on behalf of a client.  Thanks!

    I'm starting to dig into Method today and am encountering a bit of a problem with the third party portal. 

     

    When I click on "Show Test Page" I can log into the portal just fine.  However, when I copy this code to an html document and upload it to my web server, I am unable to log in using the same credentials.  No error comes up, it just refreshes the screen with the username and password fields empty.  Any suggestions?

    To Client:


    do you happen to be using Internet Explorer?  Are you able to use another browser such as Firefox?  Reason being is that I am doing some testing here and I can log into a portal via Firefox, but not IE.  The issue is currently being looked at.

    Wayne:

    I am using Internet Explorer 8, as that is the only browser installed on my system.  I do have a co-worker with Google Chrome, so I'll give that a try.  However, I'm suspecting several of my clients and customers are using IE, so I'll be interested to see if we can get this to work on IE.

     Hi Steve,

    the team has resolved the issue  - or at least provided a workaround :)

    This is a cross browser privacy issue and IE is very strict when allowing cross domain cookies, images and scripts. See - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313558.  The workaround for this problem is to add www.methodintegration.com in the allowed list of the browser.

    Open IE - Go to Tools->Internet Options - Click on Privacy tab - Click on "Sites" button - type www.methodintegration.com - click on "Allow" button.  This should resolve the issue.

     No worries Steve. Oh, and just to add, this really is a temporary workaround.  Our ongoing re-architecture work will provide a permanent solution so that you don't have to tell your customers to change their browser settings.
