    Hello, 

    I am trying to create a report that takes items with the same description, groups them,adds their quantities,  and prints the sum on the report. 


    I was able to group the Items using the Group Header section in the report, but adding their quantity and print sum has given a lot of issues. I tried creating custom fields, but it is not working. 

    Any suggestions here?

    Hi Espoir,

    You don’t need a custom field for this. Put the Quantity field into the group footer (the band that summarizes that group), then apply a summary to it.

    Steps:

    • Add a GroupFooter for the item group (so you have a place to show totals).
    • Move the Quantity field from Details into that GroupFooter.
    • Select the Quantity field, open its Summary settings, set Running to Group, and Function to Sum.

    That will print one line per item description with the summed quantity.
