Summary Tab not updating

    Summary Tab not updating

    Here are the steps I followed:

    1. Created a new budget/contract.

    2. Added a line item with the charge type set to hourly (also entered a billing rate which filled in the rate)

    3. Went to the Time Tracking tab, clicked Enter Time to create a new entry.

    4. Created a time entry for the item I added in step 2 and set it to billable (also added a duration).

    5. Clicked approve & close

    On the Time Tracking tab, it is correctly multiplying the rate times the duration, but when I goto the Summary tab and click refresh the hours do not show up. I also cannot create an invoice because the amount is still showing as $0.00 on the details tab.

    What did I do wrong?

    Hi Matt,

    I followed your steps exactly but the only difference is I will add a couple steps after yours picking up from where you left off.

    6. Go back to the Budget/Contract >>>Details and click ‘select’ to refresh (recalculate) the lines.

    7. The Summary section should be refreshed (also happens on select) but you can manually click refresh there too.

    I’m thinking I should have a ‘Refresh’ button on the Details area rather than having to re-select the record each time. Thanks for the feedback!

    Val,

    Clicking the select is what I was missing.

    Can I also suggest that the line items get recalculated when the Add / Edit Budget Details pop-up is closed. It seems as though it does some of the time, but not always.

    I used the same budget I outline in my first post:

    1. Clicked the details button on the line item

    2. Changed the charge type to Fixed and clicked save and close. The amount correctly displayed in the line item grid.

    3. I Clicked the details button on the same line item

    4. Changed the charge type back to Hourly and clicked save and close. The amount showed as $0.00 in the line item grid.

    Once I clicked select again it recalculated and everything was fine, I think it might create less confusion if it re-calculated when the pop-up was closed.

    Hi Val,

    One more thing I just noticed is that it is not calculating correctly when you first select the budget/contract.

    I had the budget/contract that I used in my example selected and the amount showing correctly. 

    I then selected a different budget/contract.

    I then went back and selected the example budget/contract and the amount was showing $0.00 again.

    Clicking select a second time would update it, but it would be nice if it showed correctly when the budget/contract is first selected.
