I think this was brought up before but in another context. For me, I learn by example...so I copy a method screen, such as New Activity, so that I can see what the coding is. However, after I run through a dropdown (vendor, for example), I don't want to Save & Close the screen because what happens is that it thinks that I made a change and wants to save it. Can't we just have an option to not save the changes, if any, to a screen or is this just not possible?

Same thing for viewing table fields...I just want to see what fields are in a table, but not have to wait because I have to click on Finished Editing Fields.

The changes made to a screen or table are actually saved as the changes are made. When you click Save & Close on editing a screen click Cancel to the prompt when it asks you to publish the screen which should shave some time off of it. For tables when you click Finished Editing Fields it essentially recreates the table, this is done to ensure that there are no issues with the table.
