Method Community

Every money field in method show as English Pound, I try to change to symbol to no symbol or put $ in ,but it still show as English Pound. I was wondering is there anyway to change the setting.

Is this happening on Method screens or reports (Invoices/Estimates/etc...)? What are the regional settings on your computer?  It may just be that you regional settings are set to English (United Kingdom).

It is only happening on Method Screens, in pdf report there is no symbol show up. and my computer regional setting is English (Canada)

Can you enable Method support so I can take a look at your account? Also which OS/browser are you using?

I already enable the Method Suppport, and I am using firefox.

It seems to work fine for me. Can you try IE? If you go to Control Panel > Regional Settings/Regional and Language Options do you have an Administrative tab, what language is setup there?

Thanks for reply, I got it. Basically it will depends on the computer regional setting, but the issue now is we have customer in some other country, so they will see different symbols, is there anyway to just disable the symbols and just show the numbers or do I need to create exactly same field with customization?

Ian,

I will have to look into this. Customizing is an option and would mean getting the amount into an action result and using the Character Function action to replace the pound symbol with $ and placing that value onto a field on the screen.

Sounds good to me. Character function does not work in my case, since I do not know how many other symbol it might occured. Pound is not the only possbility.

Hi Ian,

I am going to suggest you take a look at Customize > Display for a little surprise .

You should see a box for Default Currency Symbol just enter in $ if it’s not already in there and all your customers will see the $ symbol when the look at any screen in Method.
