    Error with Portal

We have a portal set up for our vendors. About three weeks ago it stopped working properly and we are not sure why.

We have a screen set up so that the Vendors can view our Purchase Orders with them. It filters based on their Vendor Record ID and only displays the ones that match with the logged in Portal User. About three weeks ago, the screen stopped displaying any purchase orders in the grid whatsoever. I tried switching from Vendor Record ID to Vendor Fullname and other fields, but to no avail.

The strangest part is that if I log in and log out repeatedly, once in about a half dozen attempts, it will work! Then the next time, they disappear again.

    Please help.

    Hi akoumjian,

You should be filtering the grid by Vendor is equal to Third Party Portal Entity FullName. What are the current filters on the purchase order grid?

For the grid fields, I've gone to the Advanced link for the field Vendor

From their, I've added a filter that is "FullName is equal to spdLoggedInThirdPartyLoginEntityFullName". There is no option to select "Vendor" for the filter list.

When I go to save, I get the following message:

"The field FullName cannot be selected as the first column in the dropdown. Although it is marked as 'Is Unique', there are duplicate records that need to be cleaned up first. One example of duplicate records is . "

    Hi akoumjian,

This filter should be applied on Step 3 of 8: Filters when editing the grid. By the sounds of that error it looks like you are applying it to the drop down itself. That error means you have duplicate Vendors once those are addressed you can change the settings there.

Did you go through the inactive vendors as well? Did you go though them in Method?

In cases like this what I have previously done is exported the list of vendor to excel and used one of excels built in features to highlight duplicates.

    Re: Error with Portal

So after some further investigation I have discovered that the problem is more fundamental than I thought. When I remove all filters of any kind, no purchase orders show up under any grid view.

To confirm this, I created a new Vendor Portal screen that is an identical duplicate of our Purchse Order screen. When I'm logged in through the admin and visit this screen, all the purchase orders show up as expected. When I log in through the Vendor Portal through one of our vendor accounts, none of the purchase orders show up.

Here is the screen while logged into Method:

Here is the same screen while logged in as a Portal user (again, there are no filters set up):

    Hi Alec,

When a customer, vendor or employee logs into Method with a Third Party Login (Portal), the screen is automatically filtered to only show records that belong to them. (The Override Filter by Active Record ID action can remove the automatic filtering placed on a screen). For this particular Vendor do they have any PO's created for them? Also what happens when you click the Refresh button?

I don't remember that happening automatically the first time I created a Portal, has it always worked that way?

They have quite a few PO's created for them. Clicking the Refresh button, reloading the page, and F5 refreshing the page do not change anything.

As far as I know its always worked like this for attached grids.

I have been able to duplicate your issue and am creating a ticket for such a situation. It looks like the grid is actually being filtered by ShipToEntity(Displayed as Ship To on the Purchase Order screen) instead of by Vendor.

    Hi Alec,

Can you let me know if this issue is still occuring? At this point I am no longer able to duplicate it.

    Hi Michael,

I am still able to produce the issue. I tried refresh the page, and I even created a new Portal just to test it out again.

    Hi Alec,

I will test this out again. At one point I was able to duplicate your exact issues with the standard PO screen, I will see if that is the case again.
