    set permission for different user type

    I'm tring to set different permisstion for "staff" and "manager".

    For example, Staff can only read the bill but no right to edit. So I tried to change the button roles on the "save" and "delete" button, but I still can see and use these buttons on the staff account.

    Also note, that if its a button with multiple events it will still display the addiotional actions but disable the user from actually using it (They will get an alert).

    I tried to log in and out few times but the staff account still can edit the bills.

    samleung-

    Lets try to simplify this and let me know if we are on the same page.

     

    You have a button(Save) on the Bill screen and this button only has the Manager role checked.

    You have a user(John), John only has access to the Staff role.

    You have a user(Ralph), Ralph only has access to the Manager role.

    When you log in as John and take a look at the Bill screen you shouldn't see the Save button.

    When you log in as Ralph and take a look at the Bill screen you should see the Save button.

     

    Is this how you have your roles set up? Also, are you viewing the copied screen you made and not the orginal?

    Yes, It is how I set up the roles.

    I copied the "bill" screen and edited it. I think I'm viewing the copied screen because it doesn't use the orginial anymore.

    samleung,

    What browser are you using? Do you have multiple instances of Method open in the same browser(Using multiple tabs)? At this point I am still not able to duplicate this issue. What we can do is consulting time(30mins at 62.50), you would be charged up front for the time but if it is indeed a Method bug and not just user error you will be credited back the time. Let me know how you wish to move forward.
