    Export Problem

My company uses method to create two files by exporting data out of customized grids: one for invoice header information, the other for invoice detail information.

The export function on the grid containing invoice header information as of this morning will not function.  The system brings up the window that says "Your file is ready to be downloaded" and  contains the link that says "download excel report".  When I click the link, I get a Server Error 404 within the window.

The error message is shown below.  Exports do work for the grid containing invoice line information as well as an export of the customer list.  This problem arose this morning, I do not understand what could have caused it.

Now, my warehouse is waiting on these files and orders are backing up. Any advice?

    Matt-

    Try regenerating the InvoiceLIne table.

    To do this:

    1. Go to Customize > Tables / Fields
    2. Click Edit Fields for the InvoiceLine table
    3. Click Finished Editing FIelds
Then try the process again. If it is still happening, enable MethodSupport and give me the exact steps you are taking and I will take a look.

I did the steps outlined above and am getting the same error.

What do you mean when you say "enable Method support"?

I have also alerted our account manager, Mark Crews, to the issue.

Sorry, went a little "space cadet" on that last post.

Method support is already enabled on our account (Bungalow LLC).

The screen causing the problem is on the Customer Center Tab, the "Batching" tablink.

Please let me know if you find anything.

    Thanks,

    Matt-

MethodSupport can be enabled by going to Customize > Users and checking the MethodSupport user to be Active.

I can troubleshoot this Export To Grid action on your account but if the issue is not a bug and actually related to screen customization you will need to work with Mark.

    Re: Export Problem

Understood.  Method Support is active.  If you would be so kind as to take a look to see if it is a bug related to the export of that grid I would appreciate it.

If it has to do with screen customization, I totally understand that the ball would be in our (and Mark's) court.

    Thank you,

    Matt-

So it doesn't look to be a customization issue, but an issue specific to the Export Grid to Excel action or something specific to your account as I have not been able to duplicate outside of your account. I will create a ticket for this issue and update you once I have additonal info, please leave MethodSupport enabled and leave the screen Batching(MethodTest) for our dev. team.

    Re: Export Problem

I am also seeing this problem on a portal I created based on the Quickbooks_Timesheet. Clicking on "Download Excel Report" on the pop-up that says "Your file is ready to be downloaded.  Click the link below to download your file:", I get this error...

404 - File or directory not found.

    HarryWho-

What kind of actions are in the button you created to export the grid? Is it just the Export Grid to Excel action? What if you try using the Export Grid to PDF action, does the same thing happen?

Also to confirm did you create the portal screen based off QuickBooks_TimeTracking?

    Re: Export Problem

The only action in the button is Export Grid to Excel.  I added an Export Grid to PDF button and I get the same error when using the portal.  The buttons work fine when I am in signed into Method using the tabs in Method, but I need it to work in the portal for the employees.

Yes, the portal screen is based off the Quickbooks_Time_Tracking screen, with some simple modifications.

I created a portal using the supplied Quickbooks_Time_Tracking screen, only adding an Export to Excel button, and I get the same 404 error when I logon into the portal and hit the Export to Excel button.  I get the pop-up that says the file is ready to be downloaded, but I get the 404 error when I click on the link to download it.

I wasn't able to duplicate this issue based on the steps you provided. Do you think it may be related to your other post? www.methodintegration.com/cs/forums/t/3025.aspx

Maybe with the additional details that Paul is looking for we can resolve both issues.

    Re: Export Problem

The export to excel is a bigger problem right now.  I ran a javascript debug window and came up with this.  Does this give you anything useful?
