    Error with Advanced Search

    We have had numerous errors with Advanced search. The situation would always end with inviting us to login to a temporary screen with a date (November version, December version) that was soon to expire. Now we are not offered to login to a tempoarary screen, we just see this error message:

    Error Generating Grid. The Grid was unable to build one or more filters, please edit the screen and verify each grid filter. If you cannot modify this screen, contact your administrator. ...

    It's important that the recommendation it gives is followed.

    The december version is more strict on security.  Judging by the message, you have a customized screen that has a design flaw. It may have existed for some time, but now it is being flagged.  As the message suggests, the recommendation is to check out the filters of the grid and make sure they make sense.  Most likely, make sure the grid is not filtering on fields that no longer exist on the screen.  In the December version, if there are any grid filters that don't completely make sense, the grids will show nothing, rather than ignore them.  While this is inconvenient to fix, it ultimately is doing what you should want it to do - validate your design and make sure it is logical, to avoid the risk of displaying data to your users that you don't want to show.

    The reason we had the November version available was to let you use the screen the old way temporarily, until you had a chance to follow the displayed recommenation.

    There is no recommendation -- it says contact the Administrator -- I am the Administrator. I don't know where to start.

    Take a look at the filters that are applied to the grid on that screen, make sure that for each filter that is using value from screen that the field still exists on the screen.

    Take a look at the screenshot below:

    This is a sample from the search screen found in the new CRM.

    If you look at BillAddressAddr1 it is getting its filter from Value From Screen Bill Address 1, if for some reason Bill Address 1 was removed from the screen, you would get the error message that you are getting now.

    Make sure to check all filter views.
