Can't Log Out of QB due to Method running

    Can't Log Out of QB due to Method running

    I and other clients sometimes cannot exit out of QB on our PC because we get a message that says some application (Method) is running and this prevents user from being able to exit QB or open another company file.   Method sync engine has been closed but we still keep getting that message.   Usually we have to reboot the PC or close the apps using Task Manager.

    What is causing this, and what can we do to not get this message and be able to close QB or open another QB file?   Thanks.

    Dave-

    Are they actually going to File > Shut Down on the sync engine? Clicking the X on the Sync Engine doesn't close it down.

    You can also try doing a reinstall of the Sync Engine ( You can find the full steps HERE on page 13)

    Thanks for the reply info and link, very helpful. 

    It happens again today when I tried to close QB I got the msg "The company file canot be closed at this time because there is another application (Method Integration Engine..) which is using it....".    I did a File / Shutdown and then I was able to close QB without geting the msg.

    Dave,

    I use to get that message when i was using win XP.  Shut down method the wait for 30 secs then shut down quickbooks and the issue went away.
