Intuit Payment gateway issues with estimates and multiple cards

So i got the payment gateway setup sucessfully, but do you have to get a new connection ticket for every card type? example i use intuit to process visa, master, amex and discover but its like you can only tell it to do one? also i can't get it to show any type of dropdown to pay an "estimate"

Second part of this question is I had a customer complain about the following

    bherb 14.00 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";}

Bill. Over my techie head. Please just email a quote to me. I don't want to go to another site.

    Sent from my iPhone

I will agree with her that is does seem a bit redundant for her to click a special link then have to enter her email again, is there a way to display the estimate in the email itself? or is there a way to make them not have to enter their email just the secure link be enough? also once they get there she was able to finally login and STILL didn't see the details of the estimate since you have to click the pdf icon... now i'm a younger generation and i've got 3 screens on my desk and she's clearly a bit older generation but still a very affluential customer in a nice big house so i want method to be functional for all my customers...

You should be able to use the same Connection Ticket for multiple credit card types. Right now the default customer portal screens don't allow you to pay an estimate. Though through customization you could do something along the lines of converting that estimate to an invoice and then paying the invoice. One thing to note however is that there is no SDK support for converting an estimate to an invoice meaning that in QB when you do this the estimate is closed, if done in Method the estimate will still remain open.

You can have the estimate sent as an attachment if you customize the email actions used on the screen that sends the email. I not sure if we would ever remove entering the email as a requirement since it wouldn't be very secure.

but so how do i get it under payment type to show Visa, master, discover, amex currently mine in the drop down just says credit card because i believe it only gives you room to add one set of verbiage when you set it up in the gateway area?

Also why wouldn't just sending them a custom link be a secure transaction? I get links from companies all the time that take me straight to a document?

also i've looked in the area that sends emails under estimates, and i've gone to add new etc. and i see the tab for default pdf templates but nothing that shows how to actually edit that email template and include an attachment can you be more specific please? :)

You would have to add each as a seperate gateway but you could use the same connection ticket for each one.

In our case we don't just give access to the transaction but the portal which contains a lot of user information. I can bring it up as a suggestion to have direct links(though I don't know if or when it would be implemented) but in the case of portals that extra layer of security is good.

    Answer

    MisterBill-

This involves customizing the Send Email action on the button thats does the emailing to include an attachment. When you generate a report(Invoice/estimate/etc..) you can assign it to an Action Result and that action result and be used in the Send Email action for attachments.

I would suggest being careful though you want to make sure you are generating the correct invoice for the correct customer and not sending one customer a copy of all your customers invoices.

Re: Intuit Payment gateway issues with estimates and multiple cards

MisterBill - I wanted to update you on this.  We added a new feature that lets you give a single-sign-on click to the portal.

Instead of sending them http://miurl.cc/12345, you can now send them http://miurl.cc/12345?e=email@hercompany.com

Where email@hercompany.com is her email address.

We're working towards making this an option for those that want to provide links this way, provided they recognize that it is slightly less secure (the security concern is if the emails are being sent via a non-SSL email server, and there is some email sniffer out there, it is possible that a link could be sniffed).

Re: Intuit Payment gateway issues with estimates and multiple cards

Yeah, that's what I meant by "we're working towards....".

The platform supports it.  The CRM app, however, doesn't.

The standard screens need to be updated to support this new feature.  Reason being, they need to specify the contact id, otherwise it doesn't know which email address to put in. Previously, the screens never needed to do that.  So that will come in time, to the standard screens.

Right now, however, the portals *do currently* support the ?e=xxxxxxx on the urls.

If you have a custom invoice screen, if you edit the action where the MiURL is generated, and specify the correct Contact RecordID, then the link will be created for you.  But if you don't have a custom invoice screen, best just wait until the standard invoice screen gets updated.
