Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give you a step by step on how to change what machine is the 'server' for Method.
For example; you configure your laptop with Method to sync with your Company File, but this was for testing only. You have since finished testing and are ready to use your 'real server' for Method. The one problem is that your 'server' is not your laptop. No Problem!
WARNNING : You must be using the same company file, if it is a different file then you must register for a new Method account.
Start by logging into method on the "test' machine, Select the Quick Books tab.
1, Click Reset, beside "Computer to sync with"
2, If the Company file name is different on your new 'server' then click Reset beside "QuickBooks File"
3, Open QuickBooks on the PC you wish to have as the new 'server'
4, Log into Method on your 'server' and go to the Quick Books tab
5, Click sync now beside "Full Synchronization"
This will then start a full sync with the Method servers and cause this machine to become the new 'server'. If you run into any problems with these steps please contact your Rep for support.
