    TimeTracking Sync Approval

We have thousands of entries that are waiting for approval in the Non-Posted TimeTracking grid under the Post to QB tab. Is there a quick way to uncheck the checkbox in the "Wait for Sync Approval" field inside each time tracking entry?

    Hi Steven

These can easily be accomplished by writing a small program that updates each record as not waiting for sync approval.

    Re: TimeTracking Sync Approval

I have set the default for all new entries not to have the wait for sync approval? checkbox checked. But we still have thousands of older entries that had this checked. I also tried adding a button to the screen with an action of changing the value of the wait for sync approval? checkbox from true to false but received an message stating "The TimeTracking entity is not ready to be sent to QuickBooks since the Entity "Customer" is of type "Customer". They must be of type "OtherName", "Vendor", or "Employee".

Right now we are using another payroll software and only using the work orders to bill our clients. We will be utilizing Method for payroll in the near future but not right now.

Any suggestions on how to stop the time in / time out for each employee/vendor in a work order from trying to sync with QB and delete all of the preexisting Non-Posted TimeTracking entries?

In order to clean up your data you'll either need to setup a screen designed to allow you to manually edit the entries or you can add a button to an existing screen and program the necessary actions to do the cleanup.

As far as controlling when transactions sync with QuickBooks,  all QuickBooks transaction tables have the is waiting for sync approval field.

    Steven -

While what Mark says is accurate, there are two big things you need to be cautious of.

    1. If you delete all start and top times, that could have a big impact on historical reports that use that information for job costing.

    2. If you uncheck all the 1000s of waiting for sync approvals then they'll *all go straight to QuickBooks*.  Wait for Sync Approval basically means "wait until I uncheck this before sending it to QuickBooks". Do you really want this?  My guess is that it will fill your QuickBooks with unwanted data - there must have been a reason you didn't want them going to QuickBooks until now (payroll as you mentioned), so this could be a bad idea.

Suggestion: if you don't want to delete them, don't want to send them to QuickBooks, but don't want to see them, why not just create a field called "IsHidden" and set all those values to True, and add a filter to your grid to hide records that have IsHidden?
