How to change USD to CAD and vise versa?
Hi there,
I have synced Method to Quickbooks Premier. Most of my transactions are in CAD$, but a %age is in USD$. However, the CRM system by default made everything into USD$. I don't think there was actually exchange rate conversions between the 2 currencies, but through Method, would I be able to assign certain currency to a particular customer account?

You would first assign the currency per customer in QuickBooks then Method will respect that currency when you create invoices for them. If you want to assign the currency of a customer inside Method then it should be possible through customization. The tables and fields exist but I have not tried it myself yet.

How would you assign currency to a vendor?
My default seems to go to USD and I can't easily switch to CAD to apply HST tax. How can I easily add a dropdown to switch between USD & CAD currencies?

Hi Lisa,
You can add the Currency dropdown field to the CRM_VendorList screen.
The above screenshot is from a Method for QBO account, but I've tested using a Method for QBD account as well. This will change the Currency of the Vendor in QuickBooks as per below:

I don't see either of those for Method CRM Pro for QB Desktop.
When I go to CRM_VendorList Screen in Customization features as you suggested, the copy wizard pops up...how can I get to the add fields in the Vendor List screen?

It is not possible to modify stock Method screens, so you'll first have to copy the screen before you can customize it. It should then take you to the screen designer where you can add the Currency field.

You should be able to find the Vendor List in QuickBooks by clicking "Vendors" from the Home screen:
In Method, you can find the Vendor List in the QuickBooks tab group. You can access it by hovering over where it says "CRM" in the top-right corner of Method and selecting "QuickBooks":
I should also mention that you may need to turn on Multiple Currencies in QuickBooks. You can do this by navigating to Edit > Preferences... > Multiple Currencies > Company Preferences.

Getting the dropdown worked...but currencies didn't show up.
I think it is just our QB - I think we just need to do it manually.

If you'd like me to take a quick look, go to Customize > Users in Method and ensure that the box under Active is checked for the MethodSupport user at the bottom of the screen. Once you've done that, send me an email by clicking the Contact button in the top-right corner of this post and let me know your Company Account Name, as well as the name of the dropdown and any associated tables. I'll post back here with some insight.

It is a question on customization, Justin. It's hard to know if it is right to purchase a product if we can't customize it and we can't get proper help to customize it unless we pay for it. It is difficult to explain everything in a forum.
It just seems like if we are going to pay upwards of $200+ a month we need to properly test it out in a trial period in a set up that actually fits our business.
It is just frustrating. I will call later...hopefully we can speak with someone.

If you've added the Currency dropdown to the screen and it's not showing any values, it could be a sync issue. At that point it would be a support issue and we can help you over the phone.
Is that the issue, or is it something else?

That is just one of the issues I am having, unfortunately. But if that if that particular problem is something that I could speak with support staff, I will do that.
I will try calling to speak with the support team this afternoon. and hopefully I can get the other problems sorted out as well.
