    Security On Button Not Working...Corrupted?

For some reason the security on a button of mine is not working after working well over the last week or two. Everyone (e.g. All user groups) has access to click this button, but for some reason, the error message being popped up says the user doesn't have access. This is preventing salesmen from creating Sales Orders from Estimates.

I think the button security is corrupted. Will test the theory and report back.

    Answer

My theory was confirmed. The security on the original button was corrupted somehow. I created a new button, copied the actions from the original one, set the security the way I wanted it, and the new button security works just fine for everyone.

Is this related to the recent screen security UI weirdness? Are there any other reports out there of corrupted UI element security (buttons or otherwise)?

    Hi Blake,

Sorry for the late response on this one, not sure what may have caused your button to stop working correctly. If it were an existing issue then I'm guessing other buttons would stop working as well, or at least the new one you created. Let us know if you come across any other strange behaviour.

No worries. The security was isoloated solely to that particular button. The security on the other buttons on the screen worked as I had configured it.

The security error message I was getting was incorrectly indicating the user was not in the correct role even though the user was in the proper (Sales) role.

Simply creating a new button and setting the security the way I needed it, then copying the previous button's actions over did the trick.

Weird. Luckily it was an easy fix.

    Thx
