Importing leads into method using CSV

I successfully imported leads into method. The only table for importing is the customer/leads table. I assumed it would ask me if the file contained customers or leads.

If did not and my leads were imported as customers. What did I do wrong. I have customers to import as well as leads that should not be going into QB.

One more thing, I was advised that I can elect not to import duplicates. I did not see that option during my recent import. Please advise on that as well.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Tom

Hi Tom, if you export the table (include RecordID field).  Then add a column to the table IsLeadStatusOnly add Yes to the leads and import again. When at the Step 2, make sure to select "Update existing records by matching the key fields" then select RecordID.

    Answer

    Tom -

Also, check out this help center article:

    http://www.methodintegration.com/method/kb.aspx?folder=methodcrm&id=189

Scroll to the bottom where it says "Special case: Customers, Vendors and Leads".

I think that should answer your questions and then some.
