    Third Party Portal

    I created a third party porta and copied the html code to a new page on my website.  Don't say anything about the website, it needs to be finished for the last 2 years.

    Here is the link to the account activity page I set up.

    http://www.taylorlawn.com/accountactivity.html

    It doesn't work.  The portal worked on the "test", but the copied html doesn't.  I don't know why, not that smart.  Tried it three times.

    There's a bug with the way the HTML is recommended to you.  We'll have to fix that up.

    Instead of

    <IFRAME src="../../ThirdPartyLogin/ThirdPartyLogin.aspx?Account=Taylor&amp;Name=AccountInfo" frameBorder=0 width="100%" height="100%">

    Have:

    <IFRAME src="http://www.methodintegration.com/method/ThirdPartyLogin/ThirdPartyLogin.aspx?Account=Taylor&Name=AccountInfo" frameBorder=0 width="100%" height="100%">

    You had a small error in the typing, however still nothing.  It works but no login boxes.  I can enter the test portals address and it works fine.  i even entered it into the website, and it still doesn't work with my site?

    It works, but the "IFRAME" isn't growing because you have a bunch of gobbly goop in there.  You can see it is working, though because if you click in there and drag down your mouse it actually scrolls down and you see the login boxes.

    Rather than start with your existing page and put the Third Party Login html in there, it is better to start with Third Party Login html and slowly put your header into it (i.e. do what you did in vise versa).

    I believe that with my web site designer I am going to need a html document and upload the file to insert on a page.  I don't know if my website designer allows that.

    Ok, I cheated.  You can now go to www.taylorlawn.com and choose account activity.  For the username, use plantops for password use plantops.

    You can view and do everything like you are an employee, so I have to figure out how to lock you from making changes.  I may have to create a new tab or screen or table or all the above for view only access.  Anyone want to give me a hint?

    You hit the nail on the head Kevin.

    You would have to create a that does not allow changes to be made.  That way, when a user logs into their account, that is the screen that they see.  Not the current screen that you are showing.

    Re: Third Party Portal

    I have created a new tab called "Portal" and also created a copy of the customer screen.  However, I cannot find anywhere in the screen setting to change it to "read only" or similar.  I need another hint.

    No "Read Only" option is available however..........You CAN remove the "Save" button.  That way no changes can be saved.

    In other words, it will be "Read Only"...... Cool eh?

    But, they can still search and see other accounts.  So what will happen if I remove the customer list and only have the account information?  Lets try that.

    Kevin - looks like you got the right idea.  If you want to stop the user from having the ability to make changes, remove the 'Save' button.  Don't want them to be able to see another customer's information? Remove the filter option from the 'Customer List' grid.

    As the developer of the application, the choices you make will make a huge impact to your customer's experience.  Can't stress enough to test it out as well so you can figure out what options you may need to turn  'On' or 'Off'.  Seems like you are doing that already though.
