Diff between Opportunity Table fields Contact* and Contacts*

    Hello,

There are several fields in the Opportunity Table that seem to be for identical information.

    For Example:

    ContactEmail and ContactsEmail

    ContactMobile and ContactsMobile

    ContactName and ContactsName

    ContactPhone and ContactsPhone

When/why are the Contact* verses the Contacts* fields used? What other tables/functions access these different fields?

    Thank you.

    Answer

    Hi Lisakay,

The 'Contact' fields hold all the information for that particular Opportunity record, whereas the 'Contacts' fields show the actual Contacts info which you can edit/view in the Add/Edit Contacts screen. For example, if you edit an opportunity and remove the value in the Contact Name field then save, when you export the Opportunity table you'll notice that the ContactName field has no value for that opportunity but the ContactsName shows the actual contacts name as it exists in Method. Hope this clarifies things for you, happy holidays!
