    Web Form to Lead

What happens if someone fills out the Web Form that is already in my CRM?  Will it create a new one and then I have a duplicate or would it recognize the name and log an activity under that contact/Lead?

Is it possible to to have the web form automatically create a new lead/activity to follow up on and send me an email notification of the inquiry as well?  If so, can the email appear to arrive from the person's email that submitted the inquiry so that the Gmail gadget would pull them up right away?

    Thanks

    Jon

Also, Is it possible to use 2 different Web Forms at the same time?

And if so is it possible for one of them to Automatically reply to the inquirer with a portal username and password to log in and fill out some information?

    Thanks,

    Jon

    Answer

    Hi Jonsturm34,

When an existing Method contact enters information through your web form, another lead will be created for them even if they enter the information exactly as it exists in Method, however, the name of this second lead will by suffixed by the next chronological number. For example if I already have Joe Smith as a lead in Method and he enters his information in my web form again, I will have a second lead named Joe Smith(2), and so on.

The standard web form automatically creates a Follow Up activity for each new lead and the user which created the web form receives an email upon each submission. The email will not appear to arrive from that person as it is a Method CRM email. In order to utilize the Google Gadget you would need to have received the email directly from the actual contact.

In response to your second post, yes you can have more than one web form in use at a time. Edit your web form and on Step 6 of 9 so you can include a redirect link as well as an outgoing email which will be sent to the lead. The redirect link can send leads to your Contacts Portal once they've successfully submitted information through the web form and you can type up the outgoing email yourself.
