    Email Templates

Is it possible to print line items from a sales order in an email template.?

I'm looking to adapt the default sales order screen to use in a booking system. Line items will represent individual bookings. I need to print line items (selectively) in a booking confirmation email and include fields from the item table itself.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi andy,

What exactly do you mean by printing line items selectively? I'm assuming you'll have a Sales Order with 3 line items but only want to display 1 or 2 of them, is this correct? Merge fields can be used to insert record specific information into an email template, however I'm not sure if what you're asking for is possible. You'll need to create a custom email template with merge fields, as well as customize the Sales Order screen to add actions for your merge fields. Check out our List Builder screen and reverse engineer the actions on the screen. Look for the Character Function actions on the Process buttons, they're the ones that replace the merge fields with the record values.

    Ashur,

thanks. Yes, a sales order may contain ten line items, but five may be reservations for an event on the same day. These five would need to be selected and included in an email with the event details (address, start time etc...). I'll check the list builder screen for any pointers.
