    Answer

    Hi Grif,

You can do this by creating a screen based off the Customer table then add a Grid and a Button to that screen. Edit the grid to show the appropriate fields (i.e. FullName, RecordID, IsActive, etc.), then edit the button and use the Update Field in Table action. Below is an example of what my action looks like. Additionally you can set a filter in your grid to only show active or inactive customers, then when you refresh the grid after clicking your button you'll see the outcome.

I built the screen activated 67 customers with it.  Went back in this morning & found 24 customers had been deactivated over night.  Something is wrong somewhere.  I don't have clue.

    Greetings,

Quickbooks Desktop transfer to quickbooks online> Method>customers.

Durning the transfer, quickbooks made all the customers active and it also made all my inventory items service items.

I have yet to look into this.

    Answer

@Grif - Are you still experiencing an issue?

@John M - How did you transfer your QBD data to your QBO account? The QuickBooks Online API doesn't support the IsActive status to change so it has to be set to Yes/True. If you delete a customer in Method/QBO that's when it'll be set to a Deleted status in QBO and will show up in your Inactive customers list in Method. In regard to your items, QBO doesn't have an Inventory account by default, however if you create an Inventory item in Method it'll sync over to your QBO account. Hope this helps.

It looks like the problem has been resolved.  That editing for customer links has to be done in QBO.  I do wish there was a warning or a fix for this.  This can happen so easily.

    Ashur

Since i was not going to use QBD any more and wanted to use the online version, there was a option in the online version to move all the data from QBD to QBO.  It did everything great except it made all my customers active.  I had 5 customers that were inactive.  No big deal but that issue was there.

As far as the inventory, and this was 5 months ago, QBO asked if i was going to have inventory and i said yes.  Maybe thats a new feature?

    Answer

    John,

If it's not resolved already, you can't set your customers as inactive in Method for QBO, however you can delete the customers in QBO (don't worry they'll still be in your database) and when the change syncs to Method they'll be marked as inactive.

Inventory is not something that is available in Method for QBO. If I'm not mistaken it's also a platform limitation as Intuit hasn't built the support for it yet.
