Can contact info auto populate under the Leads tab

    Can contact info auto populate under the Leads tab

    We are having a tough time finding the best place to enter new potential jobs. Our QB customer structure is Customer:Job:Sub-Job. Under the Leads tab, Lead Name equates to the QB Job and we can select the appropriate parental relationship, if any, under Additional Information and Job of Customer. If not, new leads are created for the parents and then selected when creating the new Lead/Job. This flows into the "Customer:Job" section when creating an Estimate. It seems to work okay when syncing. Our issue is that when the parental relationship is selected the parental contact information does not automatically populate like in the Opportunities tab. Can this happen under the Leads tab? Can any type of customization resolve this issue?

    Hello TomF,

    I just want to clarify a few things first.

    Within the Method CRM, you have a Lead, and under "Additional Info" you have placed a parental customer under "Job of Customer".

    This is the part that I'm not too sure of:

    Are you trying to say that when creating an Estimate, the parental contact information does not automatically populate like in the Opportunities tab?

    Could you verify what information you are expecting to populate and which screen you are doing it in?

    When creating the lead and after selecting the parental relationship under the "Job of Customer", the parental contact information does not automatically populate.  Does this clear things up?  Thanks.

    Hello TomF,


    Ok, within your company's Quickbooks File, you create a number of jobs under the same customer. This transfers to Method CRM as Customer:Job, which are separate entities.

    Now you want to do potential jobs and thus wish to use Leads. But the contact field does not get updated when you choose a parent Customer.

    And unfortunately, there are no stock screens that automatically do this. The only thing I could see would be to create a new screen, copied from the New Lead screen, and have it automatically populate the contacts from Parent customer when the customer is chosen.  If you don't wish for it to happen automatically, you could have a button trigger that.

    So yes, customization should be able to achieve what you want.
