    Portal

I just set up my portal for the first time, tested it it worked fine.

How do I go back to the portal login?

How do I get customers to sign up?

    Hi Marcelo-

You can find the web address for your portal by going to the Customize tab in Method and selecting the Portals tablink.  There will be a link on the screen that says "Get sign-in page web address..."

To get customers to sign up, you can email them the portal web address, but a better way to handle this is to create a "login" link on your own webpage that when your customer clicks on it it will take them to the portal web address.  Then instead of giving them the portal's direct web address, you can tell the customers to go to your webpage and click on that "login" link.  It's much easier for them to remember!  However you will need to have permission to modify your website - if you don't have access to do that (from your webmaster, this has nothing to do with Method) then send the portal link to the webmaster and ask them to add a login link to the portal on your website for you.

    Answer

Thanks Mary! I would also add that there are some stock email templates that include a link to the portal for the customer to use to sign in. An example is the CRM_CaseUpdateForCustomer template.

If you are creating or editing an email template you can add the link by using a merged field. The text you should include in the email template is http://urlforportal. This text will create a unique URL for each customer to use to login to their account. There are a few actions that you must use on the screen to get a merged field functioning properly. The best way to learn how these actions work is to copy, edit, and reverse engineer a screen such as the CRM_EditCase screen which has the appropriate email actions set up. Make sure to test out your email templates before you send them to your customers by sending yourself a test email to ensure that the merged fields all work properly.
