    Lead Conversion

    Hi community. I want to use method to tell me the coversion rate of Leads to Customers, and I can't just create separate users and use the provided ones.  We've only got two sales people and they're both unwilling to use the CRM and are pretty dense about technology.   So what's the workaround here, and how can I generate a report for this?

    Thanks in advance.  Also sorry if this is bold - it wouldn't let me type anything until I selected a formatting option.

    Hi Greenbee, 

    You may create sales reps in Method in the Quickbooks tab group under Lists>Sales Rep. You can then assign them to leads, customers, and opportunities yourself if neededIf you would like to take advantage of the built-in conversion charts on the home dashboard, you may create users in Method that cannot sign in and do not count towards your paid licenses. When you're creating the user, make sure the checkbox labelled User can sign-in (paid license) is unchecked. Also ensure that the users are linked to the correct sales rep. 

    On another note, in Method the best way to track your conversion rate is from opportunities won and lost. This is more efficient than simply tracking the percentage of leads to customers because you can track opportunity stages, probabilities, and the amount of potential revenue in your pipeline. Opportunities can also come from current customers. For example, if a current customer is interested in a new product, it can be considered an opportunity.

    Sweet! I didn't know that I could create users that wouldn't sign in.  If I can do that I defintiely want to use the already included reports. Thank so much!

    I guess then is there a generic report to tell me the converstin rate by month and not just total?  I figured I would copy the base report, and edit in the designer.  Or can I add another dropdown for months?

    This is not a stock report but can be created using our Report Designer. If you want to go ahead and create it and need some help, let me know here and I can offer some pointers.

    I made a copy of the original conversion report, and thought maybe I could just make a dropdown on the homescreen to sort by month.  But the close date looks like it picks a spcific day not just a month.  Should I do this another way?

    Hi Greenbee, 

    I think in this case you should create a new field in the Opportunity table that just takes the month of the CloseDate. This way, you can sort by month only and not the entire date. Once you have this field, I suggest editing the screen CRM_Home Dashboard and adding a filter to the report object. I included a screenshot of Step 2 of 4 of the wizard where you can choose filter options.
