Reports being minimized

    Reports being minimized

    We have been using a custom action that generates multiple reports for over a year now.  This has always created an open window for each report, with the windows stacked-up, and available for printing.  As of last Friday, only one report window is open, and the rest are minimized.  This is not nearly as convenient for us and I'm wondering what has happened and how to fix it.

    Hey Rolf,


    Sorry to hear that your workflow has been impeded.

    I've tested opening multiple reports at the same time with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome and have been successful.

    When using Internet Explorer on the other hand, I have been able to replicate an issue which sounds very similar to what you are experiencing.


    In order to help narrow down the source of the problem I will need a little bit information about your current setup:


    What version of internet explorer are you currently running? How to check internet explorer version

    To your knowledge, do you know if you've installed any windows updates / browser updates over the last week?

    This is happening with google chrome on multiple computers.  No updates have been done recently.

    I'm using Version 30.0.1599.69 m   with Windows 7 .

    Nelson,

    On further testing, this is what I've found.

     When the reports load, I can see they all stack up on top of each other, as before. Then, when I delete the top  one, the rest are all minimized.  If, after generating the report, first grab the bar on the window and move it, then I can see the report below, and it may work as previously.  Sometimes though, after moving the top window, and deleting it, the other windows are minimized and not on the screen.

    If, however, move the top window, and the one underneath, this seems to then keep all windows open. 

    Also, FYI, I'm using Chrome with pop-ups set to blocked, and the Method domain allowed. I also tried allowing all pop-ups and still get the same results.

    Hey Rolf,

    Since we're both using the same version of Google Chrome it leads me to believe that there may have been a Windows Update or another change on your local machine which is causing this issue.

    From Method's perspective no significant changes have happened that would have caused this response.

    Here are a couple things to try:
    1. Disable all popup blocking add-ons / extentions (ex. AdBlock)
    2. Do you have Mozilla Firefox installed?
    • Try using Method in Firefox and test the creation of multiple reports there.
    I'm interested to hear the results.
