Custom grid in sales order

    Custom grid in sales order

    I created a custom grid on the sales order screen. The info in the grid is inserted to be specific to that sales order. Problem is when I hit save it changes every sales order ever created to match what I just entered. Why doesn't it save to that open sales order instead of changing other sales orders not open.

    Turns out I have a button in the same section doing the same thing.

    Hey JWS,

    Were you able to resolve your issue?

    I've broken down your problem into a series of steps, please confirm that this is your workflow:

    1. Created a custom grid on sales order screen
    2. The grid information is related to a specific sales order
    3. When you save the...
      1. Sales order? Grid? If you could provide more information here it would be appreciated.
    4. All of the sales orders change; rather than just the one open.

     
    If you could elaborate on point 3 above.
    It would help me greatly in troubleshooting your current customization experience.

    I created a grid on the sales order page with drop downs threw out the grid.

    When I create a new sales order and enter things into the grid and hit save. It not only saves the current grid on the screen, it also saves other sales orders the same way.

    For example: We sell storage sheds. We normally collect a list of names/employees who have worked on the building during production. Every sales order has a list of different names depending on time of day it was built. When I enter the names and hit save. All my saleso orders change to the info I just entered. So if I enter names into sales order #15 and and go to #16 and enter the names, #15 changes to what I entered for #16.

    Hey JWS,

    That is some odd behaviour you're experiencing.

    I'll need some more information to troubleshoot your issue:

    1. Can you tell me specifically what field you are using to store the names of the employees who have worked on the building during production?
    2. If this is a custom field, is it being stored in the Sales Order table or is it stored in another table?
    3. How is the grid being saved? In the default Method screen for sales orders grid there is an update button when you enable editing. Are you using this?
    4. Lastly, are you refreshing the grid once you have saved the change?
