    Creating Invoice from Sales Order

As a regular part of our order processing, we capture new orders as Sales Orders, and then create the Invoice from the SO via the 'Create Invoice' button in QuickBooks. All of the items, costs, etc. map over from the SO to the Invoice nicely.

I haven't found the same function in the Method Sales Order interface. How does one create an Invoice from a Sales Order in Method?

    Answer

     Hello,

Method, like any QB 3rd party application is limited by what is provided by the SDK from Intuit.  The ability to convert a Sales Order to an Invoice is one of those features that are not included in the SDK, hence it isn't available in Method.

However, we can customize a work around that would allow you to copy the line items from a Sales Order and place them into an Invoice.  One thing to note with this alternative though, is that you wouldn't be able to mark items as ordered. Also in QB you wouldn't see the relation between the Invoice and the Sales Order as you would if you had converted the Sales Order in QB.

     Hello,

Update: One of our developers just double checked and corrected me that the SDK does support the conversion of Sales Order to Invoice, however, this is not a feature that is currently available in Method. Sorry about that.

We'll add it to our list of features to be added in the future.

    Thanks for using our forum.
