Please fix the system clock for the report engine. It's an hour behind!!!  It's fine in Method screens.

    Hello Robert,

I checked and the report server is on the correct time.  It's running smoothly.  Can you try a different browser when generating the reports?  You can even try a different computer.  It may be a setting on the computer or browser that is affecting the Now() and Today() function.

The NOW() value is one hour late on all reports generated on all our computers in all our browsers.  I suspect there is an account wide Time Zone issue.  Where is the Time Zone used in reports controlled from?  We are in Virginia.  Where is the report server time-zone-wise?  I even tried it at home and it was wrong there as well.

I wonder if Daylight Savings time could be the issue?

The Daylight savings time changeover was long ago.  The Method report clock changed (to be an our late) in the last few days on us.  The problem (and solution) clearly completely on the Method side.  There is no Method setting for Daylight Saving.  If there is one, please let me know!  I know I've never seen one thus never changed one.  It sure seems like a Daylight Saving issue.  I am having our folks look back through the report PDFs they have saved to disk in the last week to try to determine the day this issue first showed up.  There was a pretty big Method outage recently.  I am guessing a rebooted server instance that runs the reporting "engine" is not using the Daylight saving flag correctly on our account.

In screens, using the current data works fine.  It's just in reports.  I have tried different browsers on different machines, Win & Mac, from different IP addresses (work & home).  All yield the same results.

    Thanks.

    Hello Robert,

I wanted to update the forum post.  We had talked on the phone due to another support case you had with us.  I had checked the server and its time and everything is running fine.  Also, the functions Now() and Today() should give you the correct time.  The only thing I can come up with so far is the browser or computer you are previewing on is incorrect.  I do believe you have tried this on multiple PCs. and had the same time come up.  In the meantime until it is resolved, you were going to manually hardcode the extra hour.

I changed my calculated field from NOW() to AddHours(Now(),1) and reports now show the correct time.  In report designer they are an hour ahead though.  This is only a work around til you guys get your report engine timezone fixed.  Thanks.

What would be the easiest way to test that?  I don't generate emails from Method.  Thanks!

send a email from your browser to anyone.  See what the date and time stamp says on their end.

Also some ISP link IP address to time zones as well.  Google does this all the time.

    Hello Rob,

I was able to get this to be reproducable.  When the report is generated, it thinks it is five hours behind when really it is only four hours behind because of daylight savings.  In November when we turn the clocks back, the time will be correct.  I'm not sure where it is not including daylight savings time.  My browsers all calculated the UTC correctly meaning there is something off when the report is generated in Method.   In the report designer preview, it is correct.
