Customer table not showing in Report Designer

    Customer table not showing in Report Designer

    Hi All,

    I followed two tutrial videos (on Youtube and blog) and am trying to create customer report in the report designer.

    When I select Customer in the master table to create a new report, I do not get anything but empty "NewDataSet" in the field list. Therefore I can not select any data from Method.

    In the Method Customize -> Tables/Fields, I only see a test table that I created as existing table.

    Am I supposed to see the master tables, like Customer in there?

    I link QBO, so the customers should be linked from QBO. The customers tab has my list of customers.

    Any help would be appreciated it.

    Hello Yoshi,

         I am interested in why you are not seeing tables in the Tables/Fields tab link.  You should be able to see all tables in the Method system.  If you do not see this in your system, give Method support a call at 1-888-925-6238 x2.  

    I'm uncertain why you are seeing 'NewDataSet' in the Field List.  There may be a setting you are missing.  These are the simplest settings I had.  Make sure in the User's settings (Customize -> Users) that the user you are using has permissions to access the tables.  See Step 8 of 10: Access to Tables in the user's setting screen.

    Greg, thanks!

    Yes, I found that I did not have permissions to the all tables in the user option.

    Now I see existing tables in Custimize -> Tables tab.

    And I can pull Customer data in the Report Designer. Although it took a few hours to show up in the report designer.
