    Connection Errors via SSL

Since July 29, We've been having connection errors via https for our Web to Lead forms.  I did not know that this was the cause of the issues until yesterday (Aug 5) when I had all but given up trying to fix the forms and randomly changed the url from

    https://www.methodintegration.com/MethodWebF...

    to

    http://www.methodintegration.com/MethodWebF...

Today I see this is also the case with API access.

I have been in contact with our Web host (Newtek) who has added Method's SSL certificate to our keystore as a trusted cert.  Yet, still no joy via https.

    Is there something I'm missing?

    Hello James,

Can I confirm, had you changed the URL in the web form HTML to http:// and it had worked?  I could only find reference to your above lines in the script tag calling the formValidation.js file.  I'm not aware of anything changing on Method's side.

I'm not familiar with the API and it may be a question to ask in the Method API forums.

    Re: Connection Errors via SSL

    Greg,

That is correct. Our web to lead forms functioned properly using https from February 2013 through July 28, 2014.  I see that method renewed their SSL certificate, shortly before these forms stopped working, possibly through a new certificate authority.  The connection error I get when posting via http is 'peer not authenticated'.

I'll try a couple more things when I get into work today and report back. By the way, I am using coldfusion and posting via cfhttp. (Also btw, these forums are near impossible to post to using a mobile device )

    Hello James,

I don't know if they are related or not.  I do have another post, which is in the Method Providers forum, about SSL certificates and mobile being an issue.  I am currently inquiring with development about the Ccertificates. I'll keep you informed as best as I can on what I find.

These issues still persist. Any update on that end?

    Hello James,

There were two updates.  The Certificates were all updated and it was found that refreshing the browser would solve the problems.  I think the best option is to give Method support a call, 1-888-925-6238 x2 and we can take a closer look.  I am not seeing any reports of this error recently.

The Web-to-Lead forms began working again a fewminutes before your reply.

    Hello James,

It's coincidence and a bit of Murphy's Law.  If it happens again, let us know and we can help resolve the issue.
