Applying credit memo to an invoice - not possible with Method (stock or custom)?

I am not looking to do this with a stock screen. What I need to know is, with a custom screen and/or API function, CAN I apply a credit memo against an invoice with a custom screen in method for the following operations:

    1) Standard credit memo / payment un-received on invoice

    2) Credit memo to be applied to invoice with payment already applied, in preparation for writing a refund check

I am finding that the ReceivePaymentAppliedToTxn line items do not show anything for applied credit memos. Can this be done?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Furry,

It can be done but it is a lot of work and can become complex. The Receive Payment functions are some of the most involved in Method.  I do see you have posted on the forums about this before on the post about applying credit memos to invoicesThe problem is I wouldn't know where to start to assist you.  Your logic looks good to me.  I would have to recommend our Professional Services team for the job.   It sounds like there are more complicated actions missing that you do need.

    Hey Greg,

Well, for now I'm going to just add an email notification or to-do table to apply the credit memo manually in QuickBooks, which is the only action that appears can NOT be automated with Method. I don't need professional services--in fact, could run circles around them with the hours I've got in working with Method over the years. If you or any member of the professional services team might have some light to shed on this at any point so that I can handle it myself, it sure would be appreciated.

    Best,

    FW
