    Answer

    Jacob -

We're still waiting for the next live publish before we push out the calendar and work order screens with the mapping on them.  Reason being if we pushed them out now, the mapping buttons would still show up on the regular site but wouldn't do anything - as they would only work on the beta site.

I know you eager to get it - and we're eager to get beta testers on this first version. So if you like, we can import a copy of the new calendar and work order list that have the "Map and directions" enabled on them into your account.  You'll need to login to the beta site as per Danny's instructions (http://www.methodintegration.com/cs/forums/t/721.aspx).

If you (or anyone else reading this post) is interested, please:

    1. Enable MethodSupport under Customize > Users.

    2. Email method@methodintegration.com with the Company Account you want to try this on.

    3. We'll import the necessary test screens in and post steps back here.

    Sound good?

Paul - Certainly I would appreciate it if you would be able to do this.

Please just let me know which account you associate the new screens with.

I'm very excited to get all of the FO's onto the new system.

As always I appreciate your help.

Have a nice day - Jacob

    Jacob -

As per above, can you let me know which Company Accounts you want us to import the screens into?  For each one, we'll need you to enable the MethodSupport user.  Don't let post the names in this forum, just email the Company Account names to method@methodintegration.com .

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Jacob -

Got the email of the two company accounts.  But I can't log in.

Did you enable MethodSupport on these accounts?

Wow! I am blown away by how fast mapping is!

I understand you are just rolling this out so no complaints. Will there be the ability to customize the order of the stops at all?

Have a great evening - Jacob

    Hey Jacob -

Sorry I didn't respond right after the screens were.  I was going to post some instructions up here for you - but it looks like you figured it out.

There are a lot more capabilities we put into the platform for mapping that you don't see, but are actually available to you if you wanted to venture into customization (such as optimal order, polygones for service areas, long/lat, traffic, etc.).  Right now, we are just pushing out mapping from the shop to all service address and back, along with driving directions.

The order should be coming from the order of the appointments in the calendar, or the work order list.  Is this not happening for you?

    Hey Jacob -

    Just to follow up:

    1. I did some more trials on my end, and the order of the work orders do seem to be working properly and mapping in the order they appear on the schedule.

    2. If you want to "cheat" and try the optimization without customization, here is how you can do it:

    a) Show the map and directions on the Google Maps page.
    b) Click the Show Options link.
    c) Click Reset Map.
    d) Click Plot Addresses with Directions and Optimize Route.
