Moving activities from old to new method account

    I spent a few hours tonight going through my data and separating the exported activities that have the Series field maintained from those that don't. Over hal;f of my activityies, 5,872 activities in total, do not have the Series field associated with them. I checked a sampling of the activities that did not have the series associated with them and every one of them is a series on my old CRM site. 

    What can I do?

    Thanks again Audisho, I really appreciate you helping me with this. Otherwise I would be banging my head against a wall all by myself.

    Hi scottaskinosie,

    I think you may be expecting the Series record to always be directly below the occurrences. This may not be the case, however.

    In a previous screen shot, you listed several occurrences with RecordIDs 73687 - 73708, but the series record they link to had a RecordID of 72846. Since the list is sorted by RecordID descending, you will need to scroll down much farther to locate this record. It may even be in a different export depending on how many activities you have, as the Export tool has a limit to the number of records that can be exported (see the very bottom of the page after selecting your export options).

    You can export additional records using the Advanced Filter Options and filtering with a script.

    Okay, I think I understand.

    The series for the 5,872 activities is not within the table I exported, I scrolled all the way through and did not see them.

    So how exactly can I get Method to export my remaining activities?

    Hey again Audisho,

    I have one more quick question. I have everything in place and organized ready to migrate over but I am wondering, if something goes wrong, is there an easy way to delete all of my activities and start over? I have my backup of what I want to keep just in case that happens but I wanted to make sure that there is a way to go back before I get started.

    Hi scottaskinosie,

    You can use a simple Delete Record From Table action to remove all activities.

    I am tryng to move things over and am getting this error. Any ideas?

    i got the error while trying to move the activities that I exported from the old site to the new one. So during import after my data had passed validation.

    I think I solved the problem, I tried importing less data and it's working okay.

    Hey again Audisho,

    I finally have all of our activities moved over and the button for linking series worked, thank you so much for your help!!!

    But now the activities, although they have the customer entity linked to them, do not have the contact information. Is there an easy way to insert customer contact into each activity?

    actually I lied, when I click on a series I get this prompt:


    The basis this service was created from is not available on this page.

    Have the administrator edit this page and edit the Recurring-Object to allow for the basis.

    Appointments already created will not be affected unless Insert Recurring Dates is clicked and 'Delete existing occurrences on insert' is checked.


    Can you explain what this means?

    When I first get this I can click close and all activities in the series show up on the right but when I click a subsequent series or go back to this series all of the recurring activities are gone.

    Export your activity table and locate a series record. Scroll to the RecurrenceInfo field and let me know if this series record contains any data in this field.

    thank you audisho,

    I should mention that when I imported the data it did not pass validation with the data that was in the recurrenceinto field so I cleared it. I will try and recapitulate that and send you the error it gave me. I believe it said something to the effect that there was a line that wasn't valid.

    Here is the error I get when I try to import with the recurrenceinfo field populated. I managed to get one transferred as a test and it fixed my series issue with the linked activities but it was one that did not give me this error. I tried skipping a few but I get this for A LOT of them. What should/can I do?
