unable to delete tab

    unable to delete tab

    I tried searching the forum for an answer to this question, but there were too many unhelpful results to keep looking... so I'm asking here.

    My company does not use (for example) the "Campaigns" tab.  I tried to Delete Tab but was told that I needed to delete Tab Links first.  I clicked Edit Tab Links and tried to delete a tab link, but am told "this link cannot be deleted because it is being used on the ContactsPortal_Home screen."  So I go to customize Screens, and click ContactsPortal_Home, but all I get is "Copy Screen".  I can't edit the screen to delete the tab link.

    What am I overlooking?

    Hi megachris,

    You’re on the right track, you’re just looking at the wrong screen. If you would like to remove a tab, you need to remove it from the tab group. To do this, navigate to Customize > Tab Groups and select Edit… next to the tab group that you want to remove the tab from. The default tab group is CRM and this is where you will find the Campaigns tab. From the edit screen, navigate to step 2 to and select the Remove link next to the tab that you want to remove.

    Then select Finish and that’s it! If you change your mind, you can simply add the tab back from the same screen and step.

    Another issue-- the New Lead screen has an irrelevant "Campaigns" drop-down that I would like to remove.  But I go to Customize|Screens and click CRM_New_Lead and all I get is "Copy Screen."

    Am I overlooking something here too?

    Hi megachris,

    You cannot make any modifications to the stock screen. You must first make a copy of the stock screen in order to customize it. During the copy process, you will be asked how you want the copy to be displayed in your Method account. If you select the option to replace the current (stock) screen, your copy will now appear in place of the stock one on your account and you can customize the copy as you like.

    Yes it does.  I had essentially come to that conclusion, but I wasn't certain until I saw your post.  Thanks again!
