We'd like to be able to write an invoice directly from an estimate. It appears that the current method flow is estimate > create workorder > create invoice. Quickbooks can write invoices directly from invoices. Can method do this currently? Or can I attach a create invoice button to the estimate screen and make it happen?

 Hey Richard,

We have looked into doing this but found that there is an SDK limitation with converting Estimates to Invoices. We did find that using Method we could copy all the items on an Estimate, and inject that into the invoice table. The problem with this is that QB will not know that the conversion has happened, it will look at that Invoice as a new Invoice, not as a converted Estimate.

In Method you could create filters and fields to show you what ones were converted, but that data would not be available in QB.

Hope this gives you some idea's.

Hi Paul - just checking in to see if anything has changed since April.  If Estimate > Invoice is still not a possiblity, will going from an Estimate to a Sales Order and then an Invoice reflect correctly in QuickBooks (with closing the estimate and then showing the sales order as invoiced)?

Nothing has changed for this at the moment the following is what the QB SDK supports.

Purchase Order >> Bill
Purchase Order >> Item Receipt
Sales Order >> Invoice
