    Creating Reports?

    Is the only way to create a donor report in Method to download and install the Report Designer? Our office is working off of a Mac OS, which seems to be incompatible with the software.

    Our intention is to create a revenue report for our company for bookkeeping purposes by this upcoming Monday.

    Hi There,

    Yes, The only way to create reports is through the Report Designer which, as you metnioned, is a Windows-Only program. You could try installing the software onto the PC where your QuickBooks file is located and creating reports there. The Report designer can be installled on Any windows PC as you will need to log in to your account through the designer to be able access your reports, meaning it doesnt need to be installed on a PC where Method or QuickBooks is located.

    Thanks so much for the quick reply. We'll figure out a way to do it - might be something to look at adapting in the future!

    In an unrelated question, I could use a little help with an error message. Every time I try to enter a new contact/donor, I've been getting the following message:

    The Click event for Save failed to complete. 

    *An error occurred while inserting a record into the table accEntity of database worshipandmusic. String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated.

    Stack Trace:

    • #1 - Action Set (SaveBASE_onClick)
    • #2 - Condition
    • #2 - Condition (If)
    • #1 - InsertRecordIntoTable (If)

    Please verify and try again. If the problem persists please contact Method Technical Support.

    Do you know the simplist way to fix this issue?

    Hi again,

    Another option to consider if you find yourself needing Windows based software would be to look into a program called Paralells. This is Software you install on your Mac, which allows you to install a Windows Operating system in a closed off section of your Mac. Just a thought.

    As for your Inserting Record Issue, I noticed that youve already had a chat with a member of the sales team and they've  opened a support case for you. I thought I would post here as well incase you read this before we are able to get a hold of you offline.

    Have you customized the screen in question at all? Or is this the stock version?
