Custom fields not working properly in new (copied) account

    Custom fields not working properly in new (copied) account

    Started a new Method account for a new client - copying some screens from another account - having issues related to custom fields that I have never had in years of using Method...

    I can add a custom field "EyeColor" for example (text, 100 chars) on the Customer table.  However, when I try to modify or view the data, I get an unspecified error.

    I have tried various ways to display or update the data to no avail.

    Hopefully this is something simple I am overlooking.  Please help quickly, otherwise my new client will look elsewhere.

    Where are you attempting to view / modify the data from? Can you post a screenshot of the error? If you have trouble including a screenshot in your reply, feel free to send it to me in an email.

    I have a couple of screens where I am testing this - once is a customer list / data grid; the other is a test screen based on the Customer table with a simple dropdown and a few fields...

    Hi Garrett,

    My first suggestion would be to try regenerating the table where these fields exist. You can find instructions for doing so in Solution No. 429 of our Help Center.

    It looks like that did the trick.  I had to delete a field in a couple of tables to get everything to regenerate...seems good not though.
